NICESTUF CLOTHING
NICESTUFF Clothing launched in mid 2019.
The founder came to me because he wanted to prepare to raise money with investors.
He had good selling data and traction but needed a start-up audit and assistance putting together a deck for investors.
The Process:
The entire process starts with several deep conversations about the mission, vision, and goals the founder wants to achieve. By understanding the founder’s vision, I am able to craft a story that is consistent with his vision and goals along with providing insights that strengthen his goals.
At the start, we focused on the value proposition, his target customer, and the differentiation of his product. By knowing who the customer is and what value he is delivering with this product, we were able to build everything else.
Together we worked on refining the vision and mission statements.
We defined the problem / opportunity and how his brand provided a new solution.
I analyzed the competitive landscape and researched the market size.
We then worked on the business model and financials. The financial model informed the GTM strategy and the amount he needed to raise to hit his sales goals.
To top it off, I walked him through his investor deck and pitch and had him practice his presentation with me. As a founder, you must be a salesperson which requires presentation skills.
The Audit:
Now that we had a clear vision, mission, and value proposition, I began the audit of his website, social media, and email marketing.
Start-up brands tend to want sales right away but consumers don’t recognize your brand nor do they have a trust level. Awareness and education need to be built first.
We redesigned the website and marketing assets to focus more on “value messaging” (what value does the product provide to the customer) rather than about technical attributes. Email campaigns, flows, and social media marketing focused on awareness, all consistently tied together by telling the same story and value proposition.
NICESTUFF is now relaunched with a clear point of view, a defined target audience, a white-space of opportunity, and a strategic plan to grow the business.
